My genuine 94 180SX manual claims it is a Type X. I will try to scan the page.

I am not trying to be rude here :)

but if i had the early model 180sx i would not go around saying it was a type X even if on some website it claims to be.

When you hear someone refer to a type X you assume they mean the updated model.

That would also be like Zei saying his car is a Silvia

And also the earl models look just as mean in other respects. I still like the look of some of them. :) :)

i agree 100%.. if someone refers to a 'type x', its generally the updated model that ppl think of, not a '94 black top model..

I always thought that the Type X was also the KRPS13,as opposed to the
RPS13?

Isn't the KRPS13 the model with the Round tail lights, updated bumper, etc.?

The K simply means it has HICAS, it has nothing to do with type x or blacktop/redtop, etc.

I 100% agree with the two "genuine" Type X guys, unless you have a 96+ you shouldn't call it a type x as it just confuses people. It's already confusing enough explaining that the blacktop engine in 94+ 180s are different to s14 engines.

go to your local nissan dealer and ask. the answer will be something along the lines of:

'A 180SX huh? well, im sure ive seen one of those around before. Yeah they are all 1.8L and some have been modified to turbo blah blah.......' :)

you might need to ask directly to nissan japan to get a more correct answer
