did this happen after jump starting or changing battery, etc?

There's a fusable link which might be blown (or in race cases, broken)

Hey mate i had a similar problem on my s13,turns out the fuse box located on the drivers side engine bay had a blown fuse. i was looking through all the generic glass fuses u buy from the servo and all were fine. turns out i didnt properly check the big fuse running the alternator(75amp one).

Just ordered mine from repco as the electricans i went to didnt have them in stock, come in all sizes i guess. cost me like 9 bucks from memory. im not sure if thats ur problem but my headlights worked although it didnt have enough power to run the pop up light motors or any power options too.

Just check it anyway dude,i could barely see it was blown just gazing at it quickly.
