This is a newbie questions. I have a stock 92 S13 Qs. thinking for changeing my present sr20de to sr20det. what's the total price for this conversion? or will it be better for me to put a turbo to my existing sr2de?
and what is the basic modification i can start off with.

cheers

I'm no expert, however unless you are madly in love with your car you are probably better off selling your Q's and buying a K's.

Best thing to do in my opinion.

Cheers :)

I agree. The price difference between a concersion (doing it properly) and selling yours and buying a K's would be similar. So save the hassle and buy a turbo.

Remember for the swap many things are different such as:

Bottom end (additional oil squirters in DET block)
DET brakes are bigger
LSD (if you don't have already)
Engine management

heaps of other little things too I'm sure

If you get it done prefesionally then its better to sell and buy k's, but if u do it yourself, buying sr20det/rb20det will be better option.

main difference is SR - 4 cylinder
RB - 6 cylidner
there are other differences, but that's the main!!!
i like SR's better, many people prefer the RB's but i like 4cylinders!
mate exhaust should be a first mod, u'll notice it!!!!!

RBs have T3 turbos, SRs have T25 for S13s oir T28 for later models.

The stuff I listed before is stuff that should be addressed if simply bolting on a turbo.

I don't think he has it yet, so we have to bag him as much as possible until he gets it! :P

You cant just bolt up a turbo to NA SR20DE you will need at a minium trbo + intercoller+ some type of management ie new computer, different manifold
there is more stuff advisable such as getting the engine decompressed
and larger brakes
if you want bolt on power go extractors cam pod filter and larger exhuast
and if you want a lot of power just put a superchaerger on it this is basically bolt on power but you will need larger brakes for it
