Has anyone mounted a video camera in their car and if so, where and how? By te way, I'm talking about S15 here. Cheers

Jaycar has small camera's which you could mount in the bumper bar.

Are you planning on doing a " Getaway in Stockholm"

i have done this before

get a strip of metal say 500mm long, 40mm wide, and about 5mm-8mm thick

take your head rest off your seat, with the 2 headrest pins mark 2 notches on one end of the metal strip, drill these 2 notches out making sure that the headrest pins will go through the 2 holes freely

then on the other end of the metal strip drill out a series of holes so that the cameras mounting screw can be fixed to those holes

with the camera strapped to the metal strip you then put the headrest through the 2 holes that you drilled and put your headrest back on

therefor your headrest will have a metal strip attatched to it, the metal strip should head toward the passenger seat and the camera will then be mounted inbetween the 2 front seats

soo all you need is a metal strip with 2 measured holes on one end, and a series of camera mounting holes on the other end

hope you can understand these directions

Thanks guys, I've got a mate getting some metal for me to play with and I've got some rough plans. Does anyone remember which issue of AutoSalon the DIY was in?

Quick update, the bracket got made up out of 3mm ally with a rolled edge to stiffen it up, then the only problem was too much vibration through the seat itself, now I'm mounting it to a plate about 200x300mm with a support arm to both child seat anchor bolts, this will remove any body vibration and hopefully be stiff enough for the camera.
