They are all rubbish and can be beaten in less then 30 seconds. Lock it away and get a tracker for it, get another credit card.

I must say i agree with qik but if u really are after a steering lock my friend has one that doesnt really lock the wheel but if it is moved off the wheel it has a little screemer alarm in it to attract attention. I dunno where u get it from though maybe ask around, maybe get that and a steering lock? :D :D

all steering wheel locks can be removed in 30 secs by a pro theif but they may deter some theifs i know of a case of thiefs moving 3 cars 9they pushed them up a steep driveway broke into a alarmed garage and stole the Harley that was in it they then returned the cars to the same postions they were in and no one knew untill the owners got home 2 weeks later

I have a club lock on my car.... only cause it wasn't worth getting an alarm till now (once the motor is in, next step is the alarm).

If you put the club lock on BACKWARDS then it makes it alot harder to get off as they dont have easy access to the key hole to brake it.

On the other hand, if they are pro's then they will just take off the steering wheel and supply there own... etc

A Current Affair had a big comparison between about five different club locks. They got a ex-proffesional theif to test each in two areas:

Smashing it off,

and drilling or picking the lock (I think).

Most were rubbish in both area, a simple knock with a hammer would break them off in a few seconds.
There as one that was a clear winner, can't remember the name, but it lasted heaps longer than the others being picked, and the theif couldn't break it with force.

I wrote doen the name somewhere, will find it and post. It was ~$60 from all generic auto stores.

Yeah... i got mine from K Mart, its the brand i think they had on ACA.

But seriously... putting it around the wrong way making the lock face the dash makes it so much hard to break ;)

long monster chain and about 3 monster locks

rap around the wheel then lock - through to pedals rapped around twice and lock between clutch and brakes and lock between accelerator and brake.

:D cheaper than a clublock and will be very tough to break into.

will prolly take you 5minutes to lock and unlock your car but hey, gives you time to cool down and warm up the motor.

no need for timer :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

If someone wants your car they will take it! easy as a tilttray rocking up and taking off.

But as a deterrent to stop joyriders, look into making some sort of immobiliser and hook up a flashing led in the car. This well set you back a total of about $15 and half an hour at most. Theres a good article on autospeed about making an immobiliser that incorporates a magnetic trigger or something like that (this may cost a bit more than a simple hidden switch).

Or you could always just buy a clublock

the best way is prolly to make a kill switch.. as it cuts the reds and it will be harder to get around an immobilisor and although club locks mite not be much use it is still something that the thief has to get through which makes it harder for him to steal.. so its still useful

I wont post how to break/ remove a steering wheel lock but all brands that i have looked at can be done in 30 seconds or less remember this ttpe of lock is only a deternt so is a alarm if they want your car bad enough they will take it
A cop i know told me about some pro thiefs hiring a tilt top tow truck and just picking up cars they wanted and driving off

i wanna get an alarm where it looks you in and smokes up the car so you cant see anything, like the smoke at nightclubs.
