I'm new to the skidpan thing so could someone tell me how the day is run.

What time do I have to get there?
What do i have to bring? (besides some food, drink, tools and spare rims) - darn its a tight fit to get 4 stock wheels with tyres into a S15 especially getting 2 of them into the boot.
How are the sessions run?
What are the rules that are in place while we're there?
Whats a good tyre pressure to run on the burnout tyres? (205/55/16)

and anything else a newbie might need to know about the skid pan

get there around 8 from memry (i think blake was there at the crack of dawn for the last one lol)

no need bring anything else (besides what you stated) but maybe some sunscreen i think everyone got burnt at the last one it was a scorcher of a day

last time there was a biginner and advanced group, and they alternated between the two activitys. this wnet till about lunchtime and there was then only one track and the groups had about 30 min runs thn swaped

rules are wait your turn and try not to crash into anyone (there are more specific rules givien on the day)

im not to sure on pressure im still a newbie at that too

Hmm, how feasbile is it to have an "expression session" during the lunch 'break' for those that have already eaten to entertain everybody else =)

Verbal beating accepted....

I mean more of an experiementation session where you aren't following a set route with another car waiting, so you can try stuff and see how the car reacts - surely watching a neophyte like myself come to grips with weight transfer and it's effects would be amusing? This would also give people a chance to concentrate purely on something they are finding hard to master.

As an added benefit/side effect you'd probably also end up with more discussion on car handling techniques on the forum for others to soak and raise more interest in your events.

These sort of ideas can be discussed on the day, but there are a bunch of different track layouts that should test most aspect of car handling characteristics already
