Hey guys

On Sunday, myself and Dumhed had a pretty busy day. We made my S12 Gazelle go from this:

I started work at about 7am on it. Dumhed turned up just as the hard work was finished (about 10:30) then we pulled the engine, did the required mods to the required parts to fit the engine in, then had the engine sitting in the bay before about 3pm.

Yeah. We had fun trying to get that stupid engine over the fence.. *Note to self: Install gate in fence*

And CA20 have oil-filled engine mounts! I 'accidently' pulled one to pieces and got a nasty surprise!

Whats the weight difference between the SR and the stock engine? I assume the stock one (what is it CA20E?) has an iron block so the the SR would be a bit lighter?

Nice job tho, pretty damn quick!

The SR goes onto the standard crossmember, but we lengthened the engine mount slots to match the S13/14/15 ones.

The gear stick comes out slightly further back than the S12 box's one, so the floor needs slight cutting, and the handbrake might need shortening to clear it properly.

Tailshaft is unknown as yet, but there are apparently a few that are bolt on, or close to it.

The CA20 is probably lighter because it's a single cam head, and everything's smaller than the SR's bits. It's very hard to measure though!

Got more done on the Gazelle on the weekend

Had to pull the air con out to fit this. Its a sad sad day as this was the best aircon I have ever experienced :( I hope the sacrifice is worth it.
