Post subject:  Air lock in clutch system?

Long story short, I have to bleed my clutch system at least once every 2-3 weeks. There are no leakage anywhere and the clutch fluid level is always normal (doesnt drop).

Somehow air seems to be getting into the clutch system. My mate was told by one workshop recently (they mostly deal with silvias) that I have a airlock within the system and once that happens you cant get rid of it. To overcome this problem I have to replace the clutch hoses (rudder ones) to copper ones.

Does this sound right to you guys? :-?

I'd say it just hasn't been bled properly, or there's a dodgy seal somewhere that's letting air in.

I agree with DumHed.

One day I changed the clutch slave cylinder. My clutch just wasn't working and I had to bleed it from all THREE nipples and it took alot of bloody effort.

umm found what was wrong....damn master cyl is leaking slowly. Getting a master and slave cyl for $200, so I'll simply replace both.

A CA18DET 180 master and slave cyl should fit a Sr20det Silvia box right? Arent they all the same?

apparently the CA master cylinder is longer, and doesn't fit with an SR in the engine bay, but I'm not sure on that.

I think playboy has a clutch master cylinder for an SR.

CA master cylinder is different to the SR model, all the piping is different also.

I've ripped out both the cylinders and all the piping yesterday. Getting everything serviced and hopefully putting it all back in sometime this week.
