Ive just finished dropping a black top sr20 into my 180... The motor was left over from a written off 200sx. I managed to hold onto a few other parts including the brakes. These need to be fitted due to enineering, and cause CA 180 brakes are shit Has anyone done a 180sx to 200sx brake conversion?? Im after some advice with the rears. The entire hub assembly seems to look like it would be a direct swap. Is this the case or does it need to be done from the bearing carriers outward?? |

your simplest option would be to have the discs redrilled to 4 stud, then fit them and the calipers onto your current hubs etc OR replace your hub assembly and all required parts and do a 5 stud conversion, then you will need new rims to suit the new stud pattern |

The 5 stud conversion is what i had in mind. The front is straight forward but i wanted to know if the entire rear hub assembly will also bolt up |

yep, the easiest way is to remove the actual hub / bearing assembly from the rear suspension and axle, then swap. The S15 discs will go on, and you can keep the S13 rear calipers (same as the S15 ones but use a different handbrake cable setup) |

I pulled it all apart and had a go but ended up not doing the conversion due to a few things. The s14 front hubs have larger diameter bolts where they join to the shocks - fitting these would require drilling out the mounting points on my new coilovers... Other than that it would have all fitted fine. Ill probably keep the 4 stud setup for the time being and source a brake kit from brembo or something. If anyone knows where i can get hold of one please post. Thanks |

use your s14 brake and just drill four hole's in the disc and the s14 caliper will bolt up to your coilovers and you a have four stud s14 brake conversion |

not as simple as that... The bearing carrier is inside the s14 front rotor.... as is the sensor for the abs which comes back pretty far. The s13 disc is separate to the bearing carrier so both would have to be removed.... the bearing carrier is what holds the studs. The two dont match up either cause the s14 has a thivker stub axle. Ive tried a few different things |

Now would be a good time to mention i have s15 brakes with pre drilled 4 stud discs and RB74 Pads for sale |

Dunno mate haven't had it on the track apart from drift. I think i'd need circuit time to fully take advantage of them. On the road though I feel more confident with repeated braking down a large decline. Before I always had the possibility of fade in the back of my mind. |
