short shifters feels a bit knotchy....but i like it....

JIC coilovers second hand are pretty cheap and do a competent job. butyou can also get HKS, APEXi, tein, kei office, cusco, or even the cheap D2 brand...there's hundreds of different one that wuill do the job, it's up to you how much you want to spend on it.

clutch will be the first thing to go, but you dont need to do it untill the one in it drops dead, get the gearbox and diff oils changed first before you get mechanical diffs, cos the ones that come with it are pretty competent...so if it aint broke...dont fix it :)

go half full cage if you can afford it, but half cage does the job...and get as many chassis braces as you can find....adjustable suspension arms and links are also good too....

it all depends on whether you want to go for the over kill at the end of the day...

Get the latest issue of SPEED-20 odd pages of drift history, technique, cars, costs, clubs, etc.

It'll give you a rough guide anyway.

G'day

Im starting to hate this stock suspension

After 15 minutes of belting it up around a private carpark
I got use to it sideways but
i found that the diff is absolutely useless, LSD but weak as.

the gearbox has a whine in it ( get higher pitch the faster i go)

also what is a safe boost level for the turbo/internals?
(i have it set at 1.6bar At the moment)< is that too high?

JIC suspension is sitting on the floor here for it,
will be put in tonight

Cyas

Unless you're got a FMIC you're not telling me about, (or if your private carpark is in a freezer) 1.5bar way too high...

AFAIK running 1 bar on anything the size of the stock cooler is about the limit - but I may be underestimating the ARC... Maybe someone with more experience could shed some light on the subject?

I'm glad to hear all is well with the car though :D (bar the suspension and diff:P)

Project Drift CA in HPI was running 1.2 bar with an S13 SR turbo and an ARC core in the stock position.

Issue 45,the issue they install the TD05 kit. They mention the previous setup before the swap.

They have highly praised the ARC core.

G'day

Ok,

Is it worth me changing the ARC cooler to a HYBRID one (600x300x76/100)?

My car is still running the stock CA turbo at the moment.
so i may stay at 1 bar till i get better turbo in place.

Is there anyone who makes a Tube manifold that looks the same as SR20 ones? ( 2 curled pipes at the top, unlike the ones i have seen)

What is the best turbo to get?

My suspension is being fitted as i post.
Can't wait

Thanks

G'day

The car is now a lovely Flat Black shade.
and is nicely lowered (thanks to JIC suspension)

Which is the better of the 2?
a cucso 2 way LSD or
a OS super lock diff?

Front and rear strut braces/bars have been fitted
and boost calmed back to 1 bar.

Whats next to do?

Thanks

If it's a drift only car you might find it cheaper to either lock the diff, or get a mini spool kind of setup in there.

it's basically a diff center with no gears in it, just splines for the axles and carriers for the bearings and crown wheel.
They're usually used for drag racing.
