I've been using magnatec in mine, only complain is that after 5k it comes out pretty black. Not sure if its the oil or my motor thats causing it...

Motors got 130km at the moment.

I think i might change brands next oil change. What you guys think i should get for a DET with 130k's on it.

ahh the age old oil question.

her's my theory, on anything but brand new engines, 0W whatever i reckon is too thin.

5W50ish like mobil1 is good cos nice and thin to get flow when it's got and nice and fat when it's warm. but you're engine's gotta be alright

In my crusty vortex i use Repco Semi-Synthetic, 15W40, $25 for 5L, great stuff.

also i change it at 12'000, cos thats when the FSM says to change it and to use that viscosity.

Magnatec is liek 10W30, but it's multigrade oil, and there's no way it's magnetic, it would need to have metallic parts in it to be magnetic and that would be very very bad.

meh, i had motul 1 in my car at the moment..... and i've done 6,000 km's on this oil and checked it the other day and is a still goldy type colour, so it's not to bad and my car has done 75,000k's

motul 1 is the way to go i say....... but everyone has their oil of preference so all to their own i say!!

Will

nissan says to use 10-40 or 10-50 for our climate.

even though its thicker, why wouldnt you use the 10-50 ?

most ca's are pretty clapped out and need a bit of lubrication anyway
