Hello !

I am in the process of swapping my CA18DET into a S13 SR20DET.
And i just had a question about this thing we really dont know what is, and thought maybe someone could help.

If you take a look at the picture, you can see the ting with the two rubber pipes coming out of it, one going into the exhaust elbow.
What is this really? I have heard someone thought it was something called AIV, and it does no ggod so i can really just rip it away? This just messes up my intake manifold?

Thanks
Kjetil Riisnes

hey

If your reffering to the 2 pipes next to the rag on top of each other entiering that little device that is your ERG. It is for emmisions. Dumps fresh air into exhaust to reduce emmisions readings apparently.

People have removed the assembly and blocked it all off but I believe you should keep it there. You can remove your stock airbox and buy a APexi power intake system which has a nipple which you can attach the hose to so that the ERG system works.
