I was thinking about this after seeing a n13 exa this arvo....

has anyone ever seen a 180sx with a targa top ?? I thought it'd be a fairly simple thing to do and would look absolutely horn, but I was wondering how much it would cost...also how legal it would be.

This reminds me of a project car by a member of this forum..

it could have been described as a 180sx Ute+convertible...

last i heard, the guy was locked up at some mental institution :(

haha, I was thinking more along the lines of something similar to the targa top on the supra rz (like the one from f&f) like the metal part between the glass comes out and you can still put it back on when needed

Making the car targa would not be that easy, as the roof is an integral part of the chassis strength. You would have to reinforce all of the pillars, as well as the roof frame work. Even when you are done, the car wouldn't have the handling it had previously as the torsional twist of the chassis would increase.

Jeff.

Like the old Fairladys? The old Z's came in Targa models.

I wonder if they'll make a 350Z Targa?

I'd prefer a targa top to a convertible with the Z's (actually, I think the 350Z convertible is all kinds of ugly). Those removable hard top pieces and T-bar roofs suit the car so well. I think a 350Z with a T-bar roof would look cool.

Its not really viable for the reasons MFX-R33 has mentioned plus it would cost you heaps.

How about nice after market sunroof.

I personally think a 350z with gull-wing doors would look sweet, (the whole t-bar thing made me think of it) gullwings that mee on the t-bar (?) in the middle of the roof :P

Yeah, actually that would be pretty cool...... *dreams*

I wonder if the guys that gull-winged the Ford ute would consider chopping a 350Z in the same way? Get a silver 350Z, and it'd resemble those classic Mercs.

350 would take a lot more to get it Gull wing as it has pillarless doors.

Jeff.
