This question is aimed at those who have had switched from standard to custom number plates, or vice versa while driving the same car.

Have you found any difference in police or idiot wang attention with or without the plates.

I dont get pulled over or hassled at all, even as a P plater yonks back, id like think its because ive kept my nose clean for that last many many years, but considering some custom number plates, OBVIOUSLY if you doing something stupid or illegal then some custom plates will stick out like dogs balls and will be easily remmembered.

I would say youd definately get some issues with the five oh if you "cruized" in the same precinct all the time.

But I can't see it being too much of an issue if you keep behaving well. In fact i could see it being an advantage if you were to get a GOOD rep with the local po po....maybe

I haven't had any trouble since the custom plates. Then again, mine are fairly cryptic. I imagine if you had FKCOPS or something they might take a little bit more notice.

Yeh i think it would depend on the type of plates. But I didn't expect Nis to get anything too hektik.

Unless it's CZYAZN or something like that

Pro Concept = Where all my fuckups get fixed!!

I used to have custom plates CMY05X (changed from standard) and never got any police attention on the road. But around where I drive and live police dont really hassle you unless your driving the car in a manner not acceptable to them.

I think if you dont advertise that your car is fast or that you race ie.. 4DRUNS you shouldnt have a problem.

Suppose it also depends on what your plate says too..

I had custom plates but they didn't mean much (just my name and 888), only if i'd be doing something stupid then i'd get pinned.

However i'd say there would be more attention if the plate style was the black on gold style ones or the ones that actually say words and what not.

Back to your question, i switched from normal black on yellows to some custom silver on blacks, and i haven't seen any difference in attention.

i have mixed opinion on this one...

on my old silvia i had the same plates, but the car and plates were blue... didnt get hassled at all..

on my new black sil, which sits a tad lower and DID have a huge angled fukn cannon i did get a bit of attention.. and defects...

changed my exhaust a week ago.. we see how i go now
