When you would rather climb through a 10 point roll cage than play with your kids on the monkey bars.

When you rock up at a funeral and start asking about the GTR outside in the middle of the eulogy.

When you throw away baby photos and replace them with HPI cut-outs

When you attempt to adopt a 43 year old Japanese man named ' takeshi '

When you paint your children’s room in mazuro colorflip

When you spend 2 hours selecting oil, yet eventually you decide to specially brew your own.

When you stay up till 4am to get a call from yoshi direct from Japan, yet you are "too busy" to hear your babies first word

When you ask for insurance, on your insurance.

When you can list and categorise alphabetically every Japanese production engine, yet you don’t know your kid’s age

When you can’t stand a baby screaming, yet you can tolerate 200db exhaust note on a daily basis

When your son asks you to fix his toy car you ask "HKS or TRUST?"

When your mirror is a 18x10 Works rim

When you leave your fiancee at the alter because you heard a rumour that the HKS drag car was arriving at the airport the same day

When you ask for the autograph of those who unloaded the HKS drag car

When your child’s pram is 90% carbon fibre

When you adjust the camber on your kids pram

When you take family photo’s, they are always cut off.. but your car is always in the picture

When you hold lap record at the local supermarket carpark

When you get a custom EL-dial setup for all your major appliances

When you name your rottweiler "nissan" and your poodle "holden" (see who wins now :P )

When you sit in your car in a dark garage making BOV noises while you wait for your engine to come back from the shop

When your car weighs less than your immeadiate family

When you spend more on rims than you would on food for a year

When you race-strip your wife's camry

When you replace pages of the bible with articles from HPI

When your turbo gets more pressure than a kids' jumping castle

:P

I reckon the main difference is when you'll take a route that's twice as long to where you're going coz of one good corner or bit of twisty road :)

Every time i try that i get stuck behind someone going very slow, and am left with the option of being a dangerous hoon and overtaking them, but I never do :(

when you dont eat for a fortnight so you can put a deposit on a NOS kit

when you can hear a BOV from 6 blocks away

when you check for new posts on silviansw.com evey half an hour

when you can spot the tail lights of a silvia or a skyline 30 cars in front of you in traffic

when you spend 3 weeks searching for the loudest BOV available for your particular type of motor/ setup.

P.S great thread guys....

You change the look of your car more often than your hair

or one I'm finding more and more every day
===

You can Identify a car's make, model, engine type and stroke by hearing its exhaust from 2 blocks away.

When you ask your japanese teacher to translate the Japanese on the inside of the sun visors.

When mod parts are on your weekly budget

When you go to the travel agent for japanese pamphlets, hoping to see pictures of highly-tuned nissans in the pics

When a relative or friend plans to buy a car, you always suggest the Imported alternatives

When you look for a parking space in a parking lot, you view a vacant space next to another import as an act of god

You dont need to worry about blockages in your muffler, after all its big enough to just reach in and clear the problem

:P 8)

You wont buy Turbosmart products because they are not a Jap brand name :) Your engine bay panels do not match your body colour You pick rims costing $850ea w/out tyres coz you need a jap brand

When you are still thinking about this thread 2 years later...

You barely recognise pixtures of your own car taken 2 years ago...

You start needing an extra room for parts storage...

You have parts of your car signed by D1 drivers...

Sitting at the beach all day with family is a chore, yet you will happily sit at Oran Park all day in the scorching sun, breathing in exhaust and tyre smoke...

You have modified your car in a way that only another fan could live with...

Just found this great thread, had to be bumped! 8)
