the PowerFC uses the cat temp light as a general purpose warning light.

It shouldn't be on all the time though, it's meant to signal errors, running out of injector flow or AFM resolution, or excessive knock.

There may be a wiring problem or other error that the PFC is picking up.

The PFC doesn't look at the cat temp sensor.

check the pfc manual for anything that causes the light to stay on.

Also have a look at the sensor / sw check screen in the etc menu and see if any sensors have their values highlighted (black)

it'll be the boost controller error.

The pfc comes with it set to on, you need to switch it off if you don't have the optional boost controller.

Can't remember how to do it but there are plenty of FAQ's about with instructions.

ah cool.

I didn't realise that cause the light to stay on - but it does usually cause idle problems and other issues!
