Heres the scenario,i know theres aftermarket ones to buy but im thinking of cutting just b4 the throttle body, welding that section up and repositioning it in the front where most of them usually are.

Why? well im putting an rb25det in my 180sx and ive seen other guys with standard plenums running there intercooler piping all over the shop. will put a link up of what i mean anyway, sorry if its not worded right for u to understand.

Would appreciate ur input on whether u think i should bother or just buy one. not really keen to spend a whole hell of a lot on a plenum as id rather spend the money on other mods.

heres a link of what i mean.

I've never been a fan of people moveing the throtle body, cause its factory position is designed to feed all the runners corectly.

A lot of people have cut and shut RB manifolds. maybe one or two have done it in such a way for ALL the runners to flow correctly. most fail at it and at best starve no.s 5 & 6 while the rest run well enough.
the same guys usually just throw a vl rb30 bottom end under it,boost it up and hope for the best. if it works at all, that's good enough. working well costs money, and we don't want to spend money after all...

if you're contemplating this,it'd be best to at least use a trust manifold,it'll be more likely to almost work properly,as the design will doubtless have been tested properly.
ideally you'd use RB26 throttles, plenum and an adaptor manifold, along with programmable management.

blitz used to have an adapter kit to fit the rb26 plenum to a rb25 but that was quite expensive.
if you head over to skylines australia, theres a few guys there who are making their own plates up & testing it out
