I've found the best way to improve performance of a naturally aspirated engine, is to add a turbo |

And even then the results are varied. If you just want a little bit more power, the usual breathing mods are the way to go (i.e. intake and exhaust), but you can pour money into a DE and you're not going to get much more than 120rwkw out of it. One member here went to town on a non-turbo S14 engine - pod filter, Z32 airflow meter, 280 degree cams with matching springs, extractors, 3" exhaust, power fc and a custom tune. It made 122rwkw last time on the dyno. You can put less money into buying a turbo engine and make 120rwkw with no mods, 150 - 160rwkw without trying and over 200rwkw with a few simple things. It's not worth the hassle unless you're involved in a racing class that doesn't permit turbochargers. If you're a P-plater, you not supposed to do any kind of engine power mods. You'd be better off spending your money on track days. The slowest part of most Silvias (and cars in general) is the driver. |

What makes you think the Autech motor will make more power than the 122rwkw motor that cypher is talking about? The main difference between Autech motor and non-autech would be cams, ECU, exhaust, and all that stuff was upgraded well past Autech specs on that 122rwkw non-autech motor anyway |

I've said it again, that guy is a massive tool. I saw him flying 120 or so in an 80 zone, big roflcopter at the shopping list down the side and massive GT wing on the back. And yes, I'd very much like to see that 200rwkw SR20DE. |

short of pinching a BTCC primera engine (as none of us could afford to buy or build one) and modifying it to run rwd he is full of shit. They made 230 odd kw at the fly in the last of the factory backed models back in the day So in theory it could be done, but highly unlikely. |
