Can someone tell me how big the factory speaker sizes are for s14s? Ive heard conflicting stories, both 6" and 6.5". Can someone clear this up for me cuz strathfield have 2 way 6.5" sony speakers for $50 and im keen to cash in while theyre on special hehe :D

I have got 6.5' splits in the front doors of mine, and they fitted perfectly.

I know we had very little problem fitting them in, so which ever speakers you want i rekon out of 6' or 6.5'

6x9's will NOT bolt straight in in any way, shape or form. you're talking a major custom job to get them into the shelf of a silvia.

the std speakers in an S14 or S15 are 6 1/2" units, with odd semi-diamond shaped baffles, that are more like 6 3/4" in diameter.

getting 6 1/2" speakers into the front is very easy, only some minor trimming is required, but the rears need a decent adaptor plate under them to fit properly,in something like 3 or 5mm MDF.

if you want decent bass, you're going to want a sub. no exceptions.

also, you might want to consider something a little better than $50 sonys.
in audio, you get what you pay for...
