Roof cut?
:o

For a onevia you will need the following body panels from a 180sx:
.Bonnet
.Left and Right Guards
.Guard extensions
.Bonnet
.Front bar
.Headlight assemblies

Other stuff needed:
.4 relays and probably the relay box from the 180sx. Relays are 3x '1 Transfer' and 1x '1 Make 1 Break'.
.Retractor switch

If you are wondering how I know all of this, I have researched a onevia build myself. Undecided if I will actually do it or not yet.

yeah what he said...make sure you get the headlight relays, and relay box when you get the panels cos other wise you will have some serious trouble trying to track one down. Wreckers aren't willing to seperate this from the front cuts they have available. You can get buy without this, however you will just need to wind the headlights up and down when necessary.

And what is a roof chop???

If you want a roof cut then just by a real Silvia convertible. They are very rare, I have only seen one in real life, mine, but I occasionally see them for sale. Before I bought mine I was told by one place that they could make one for $5,000. I asked what did that involve, basically cutting off the roof making a soft top and strengthing the chassis and paying lots to an engineer to sign it off. I asked does it have back windows, no, electric roof, no, nice finish with a cover between the boot and back seat so it looks good with the roof up and down, no. I am sure if you wait long enough you could find a real convertible for less than $5,000 more than a hardtop. Then you will have 4 electric windows, an electric roof and it will all work ok. Also the car will have much better proportions.

On the one cut job I saw the roof was press studed onto the top of the windscreen which I am sure rattles and makes lots of wind noise. Also it looked like the roof could be taken off from outside the car which means it could be stolen much easier. The side of the roof came level with the back of the front windows and went all the way to the boot which just looked much too long and silly. On the factory (autech) convertibles there is a back window and the roof is designed to come up about six inches in front of the boot so the side of the roof looks not that wide and nice.

PM me your email address if you want any photos of a real Silvia convertible.

I think he has probably seen the gold Dart Izumi/ K Style "oneviavertable" in that drift video that is going around. You know where the dude gets out and lets the car drag him along.

Agreed, its a damn good looking car, but do as Chris suggested and get a convertable then put a 180sx front on that.

Yes I agree that Gold car in the video looks great and is based on a factory convertible. In the same video there is a red car with a convertible top that just doesn't look right but certainly looks better than the $5000 chop I saw in Australia.

I love that video clip. Mainly the convertible but also the Silvia at the end that does donuts around the girls being used a cones. I have HPI 3/4 and 7 but I don't think anything on HPI is as good as that short Video Clip.

Does anyone know where to see more stuff like that.
