so far so good, a rebuild with all the good bits is planned but hopefully only after the jamboree.

had to move the abs a little, things are very tight as you can see, have moved a couple of lines around a little from the pics but it's pretty much the same look though. it's not a massive turbo, GT28 with custom exhaust manifold but it does spool up very quickly and feels quick on the road. i'm yet to get it down the 1/4 with the new setup and it looks like it will be the jamboree will be the first time i can do so. ran 11.9 @ 119mph last time with standard turbo and a shot of gas but have had a bit of work done since then and if everything holds together i'm hoping to run a lot quicker.

The bar is a copy of the Nissan Aero Kit front bar from Unique Auto Sports. It is actually meant to go with the standard spec R side skirts, rear pods and the GT wing. So it would look great on your car

The lights are great, but they are only fog lights, so I still can't see past that damn hard line created by the headlights

Prices are on their website, but if you are not going to get the fog lights, I would suggest getting the bar from somewhere like carmate. They make them without the mounting brackets for the lights (as you can see on Johnny's car (RESIST) a few posts back)

try carmate then

check for little holes in the fibreglass and not smooth edged and surfaces. all of this sort of stuff will make it harder to spray and will need preparing before spraying

In all honesty, my panel beater had to spend 2 day preparing the bar to his standard to be sprayed (they have won best paintjob at sumernats 3 times)

He even asked where I got it from so the next time someone came to him with something from the same place he would tell them to get lost as it was too much work.

had some major troubles with the car and didn't run very well. clutch killed itself and it was a waste of time trying to get a good pass out of the car. new one is in the car now and i'll be back at the strip when it reopens to run some decent numbers.

the best run was a backing off 12.5 at the jamboree 1/4 which was the warm up run, no nitrous, low boost tune. i didn't get the chance to run a full power pass. all problems are now sorted out though so looking forward to when willowbank reopens.

I agree with dr_s15 payam, the wheels dont set the car off. For me its not a matter that they are "RICE chromies" or "SUPER LIGHT Jap rims". They just dont set the car off, the rest is great, I think the wheels are a let down . Not saying this to be rude, just trying to be helpful.

Cars looking impressive now, except what I have mentioned above about your rims.

Here are a few more pics (older ones) to see different angles of the wheels.

And here's with some old DTM Dish wheels i used to have..got dirty too easily (collected break dust) and i really liked them..the chromies have an appeal to me. I like a lil rice, i've got a vertex kit coming in the next 2 weeks.

Before you assume the pics are large, take a look at the properties. All the pics have been optimised with 10x compression, the photos have been recuded to 33% of the origonal size or less (taken on a 6 MegaPixel camera).

All of the pics posted are between 50Kb and 90Kb as far as i know, reduced from 2mb each!!

Also - stop being rude. If you don't like the car fine, that's your business. This post is about 'posting pics of your car'..which is what i've done. I'm not looking for approval on who likes my car..it's mine and i enjoy it. Full stop.

Nismod.. and Imsoskit.... U guys gotta stop waiting to pounce on me on these forums, really not nice. Behaaave...

Oh, feel free to post pics of your car in ultra small high resolution file sizes so we can all admire your ride, i for one won't be waiting to insult you. It's not what these forums are about.

Not everyone on these forums have cable dude. When I'm on cap, loading the photos take days !
Payam0001 - Thu Mar 04, 2004 7:34 pm
Post subject:
True, i used to have dial up until a few years ago. I lot of my mates still have dial up but it's pretty quick now as a lot more people have adsl or cable internet.

The 8 pics in total i have posted on page 7 in this thread total 380Kb for the whole lot. That's an average of about 47kb per pic. Evan Telstra or AOL crappy dialup can handle that pretty quick.

I will admit in the past i did not bother to optimise my pics and posted a few about 6 months ago which pics were 200kb each, i have shrunk these pics down heaps.

Nothing wrong with dial up though. I keep an account with TPG as backup in case my adsl ever drops out (has not happened to date), it's only $5 month for my dial up account..good to have one as backup if you need the net at all times for work.

I care not for your criticism (note the spelling) or your opinion for that matter. I've got a set of fat 8.5", forged, lighweight 17s. I don't see the point of going bigger than that, as the overall diameter stays the same, you are just losing the sidewall and the ride quality suffers. And the rubber price difference is drastic. If you were driving hard ALL the time like me and had to change tyres every few months, and were not a poser with big ass chromies you would understand that

SXU-29T wrote:

p.s theirs only one blue VERTEX s15 on chromes in the WESTSIDE baby

I've seen your car and those wheels ruin the whole thing
There's a reason why they don't make lighweight chromies and you don't see them on any car with the least bit of class i.e BMW, Porsche, Ferrari...
It's your choice, but it'a a really bad, tasteless one.
What kind of people are attracted to shiny things? You should get yourself those spinning chromies, that would be fully sicker than hectic

the problem with excessive lowering is that your suspension geometry goes to hell, and you scrape on everything. My S15 was only lowered 2 inches and it was scraping too much, and I'm not talking humps and shit, pulling u-turns on highly cambered roads would scrape the underbody

A kit allows you to look lower without actually lowering the whole car too much.
But then you are stuck with those massive wheel arches

So where are all the friendly photoshoppers when you need them?

Im sure you can find some "more suitable" rims that suit your taste and complement the car if you put effort into it Payam

You should use Meguires Quik Wax(?).....takes about 30 minutes the wax to whole car....and shines like Gold Class......cheaper as well.....lasts about 3-5 washes...

Payam, your vertex kit looks great. But..., i would just like to give you a constructive suggestion. Why don't you get the Black Mesh for you Vertex front bar? cos the one you've got now looks so cheap. (as u can always find it from lancer, excel and rex with kits). it just doesn't match your front bar dont u reckon.
spend a bit more on the mesh and complete the look!

*JUST MY OWN OPINION*

anybody agree?
keviny - Mon May 31, 2004 10:12 pm

yep agree....i originally had silver mesh for about 1 sec...then i took the front bar off and painted the mesh straight away....

fecat looks good is it possible to remove the reflectors? or will it leave two holes there?.... as i think im going to have to remove them or replace the rearbar when i get mine hehe...
fecat - Tue Jun 01, 2004 6:10 pm
Post subject:
you will have two holes if you take the reflector out. and the cost of the labour to fill up two holes, painted and fixed will cost you more than getting a after market rear bar. so dont do it.

the offset of my rims are 17×7.5J +32 for the front and 17×8.5J +40 for the rear.
the tyres are Toyo R1R 235, 45 front and 255, 40 Rear. and yeah, standard height!
